IPE Ltd to provide new training facility at BBC Wood Norton
IPE Ltd, UK based radio and audio systems specialists, have been contracted to provide a new broadcast training facility at BBC Wood Norton.
The project involves completely re-equipping an existing control room / studio facility in the Training Centre with a DHD 4200 digital sound mixer and VCS Playout and Cartwall facilities, installed in new technical furniture. The system is currently under construction at IPE’s premises in Newmarket, where it will be fully tested and commissioned before installation at the customer’s site.
The design is based on the seven workshops that IPE Ltd installed as part of the BBC West One production area project in Broadcasting House, and similar to a facility already in operation at BBC Marylebone High Street – another broadcast training location, and will be fully integrated with Wood Norton’s central signal routing systems.
The project included integration of the following equipment:
- DHD4200 – Digital Audio mixer
- VCS Dira! – play servers (Playout system)
- VCS Medianet – editing and scheduling
- VCS Cartwall
- Prodys Pronto ISDN Codec
- Sonifex HY03 Telephone Balance units.
